The ECIX
The European Commercial Internet Exchange (ECIX) is a brand name of Peering GmbH located in Berlin and Düsseldorf. PEERING GmbH is a commercial organisation operating the ECIX. There are three ECIX Internet Exchanges in Germany with more than 100 members and peak traffic higher than 75Gb/s [3], making it the second largest IXP in Germany by membership and traffic. ECIX currently operates a Force10 (Peering), Brocade (MPLS) and Cisco-based infrastructure with 1-80Gb/s links.
